Parallel connection of two or more Taco 009 pumps can be made to increase the supply of water. These two pumps simultaneously pump water in the same penstock. When the two - or more - Taco 009 IFC pumps are working at the same time, the total output is calculated by adding the first pump's output with the second pump's output. The operation output of each pump is calculated using the parameters that would have been used to calculate its output if it was working independent of the other pump. Every pump in the parallel connection works with its own characteristics, meaning if a Taco pump is connected in parallel with another pump that is not a Taco pump, the total output would be the sum of the outputs of the two pumps if they were working independently in the same system.
There is a risk though when one connects two or more pumps that are not of the same make, like connecting a Taco pump with a non-Taco pump. Each pump works under its own unique set of conditions, like pressure, size of valves and other conditions. This could affect the overall effectiveness of the parallel connection. It is, therefore, better and more effective to connect two Taco 009 SF5 pumps than connect a taco pump and another pump in parallel.
Connecting one taco pump to another has several advantages. One, since they both operate at their optimum under similar conditions, the overall output of the parallel conditions will be highest. Having separate pumps may cause a substantial reduction of efficiency and output. Also, maintenance of two identical Taco 009 pumps could be cheaper in the long run because they use the same parts, have equal operational power - which is pretty low with Taco pumps - and have exceptionally high output.
One may, however, wonder why it is necessary to connect two pumps in parallel. Well, some large homes and slightly large commercial firms require more power to pump water around the entire plumbing unit. A bigger pump could be used to do the job, but connecting two pumps together is much cheaper than buying a pump that can pump water at the same output level as the two parallel pumps.
